HAVE MEMBERSHIP, WILL TRAVEL: Where To Use Your Reciprocal Benefits

Summer VacationDon’t forget to pack your Maltz Museum Membership before you set off on a summer getaway. Members at the Advocate ($150), Upstander ($250), Champion ($500) and Founder ($1000) levels receive reciprocal benefits to hundreds of museums throughout the United States and Canada. So whether you are planning a road trip to Pittsburgh or a week in Florida, there is most likely an art, history or heritage museum you can visit for free.

In fact, Registrar & Exhibitions Coordinator Lindsay Miller has made a few recommendations to help guide your research. All of the exhibitions below are on display at reciprocal museums this summer.

  • Consider the influence of Andy Warhol and Ai Wei Wei on modern and contemporary life at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh (June 4-August 28)
  • See the Emancipation Proclamation at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati through June 30
  • Explore the life and work of film legend Stanley Kubrick at the Contemporary Jewish Museum (June 30 – October 30)
  • Be moved by stories of perseverance in What We Carried: Stories by Iraqi Refugees at The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center through June 26.
  • Discover how Yiddish theater culture blossomed on Manhattan’s Lower East Side by visiting the New York’s Yiddish Theater: From the Bowery to Broadway on view at the Museum of the City of New York through July 31
  • And through July 3, rediscover creative pioneers at the Polk Museum of Art’s Rebels With A Cause exhibition featuring the works of 250 mid-19th to mid-20th century women artists in Lakeland, Florida
