Join us in the gallery with Peter J. Haas, Abba Hillel Silver Professor Emeritus, for a conversation about the final withdrawal of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from Sinai in March 1957. The Israeli-British-French operation to take over the Suez Canal is often overlooked, but it was in fact the first long-distance Israeli military operation and established that Israel, then only eight years old, was becoming a serious military power. We examine the war and how it reshaped thinking in the Middle East.
Coffee will be served.
