Part I, In the Sabra Land, explores how Israeli art has defined and re-defined its “Israeliness” from the founding of the Bezalel Academy by Boris Schatz in 1906 and the emergence of a characteristically Hebrew Israeli art aesthetic, through the tumult of the early 1960s. Samantha Baskind, Associate Professor of Art History at CSU leads a post-viewing discussion.
Special: Purchase advance tickets to Part I and Part II (November 7) for $15/$12 Museum Members.
