Honor the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Maltz Museum’s annual free admission day. The celebration begins at 11:30am in the Museum’s Chelm Family Theatre with The Honorable Louis Stokes, U.S. Congressman from Ohio (retired). He will be interviewed by The Plain Dealer‘s Brent Larkin with a Q&A session to follow. Update: The Stokes program is sold out. At 2pm, the celebration moves next door to The Temple-Tifereth Israel for the a performance of A Conversation Among Icons: Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Gandhi. The one-act play, written by Indian Cultural Garden Chair Raj Pillai, portrays the conversations that ensue when Dr. King is visited by Rosa Parks and Gandhi in prison. Guided tours of the Museum’s permanent collections – An American Story and The Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery – and the special exhibition, TRAITOR!
