Sharing the vibrancy of the Jewish American experience to build bridges of unity.
Where people from all walks of life can find inspiration in stories of courage. Visitors to the Maltz Museum can explore historical and modern stories of the Jewish immigrant experience in America. The Museum is a place where students and learners of all ages and faiths can better understand Jewish heritage and appreciate the common ground humanity shares. Our permanent collections, special exhibitions, educational programming, and community events strive to cultivate understanding that promotes tolerance and foster unity.
The Maltz Museum’s Mission: Build bridges of tolerance and understanding by sharing Jewish heritage through the lens of the American experience.
Located in Beachwood, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb, the Museum houses 566 works of art, ceremonial objects, and media for visitor to experience. This includes 166 artifacts in the Museum’s Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery, featuring a rich selection of ritual objects, sacred books and scrolls, and fine art from all over the world.
Setting a standard for community stewardship
After founding a media empire, Milton Maltz and his wife, Tamar, created the Maltz Museum in 2005, as part of a collaboration between the Maltz Family Foundation, the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, and The Temple Tifereth Israel, with research support from the Western Reserve Historical Society.
