Smithsonian Community Engagement Project on Implicit Bias Coming to The Maltz Museum

February 26, 2026

The Maltz Museum is proud to announce the upcoming arrival of "The Bias Inside Us," a community engagement project from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). Running from March 8 through April 5, 2026, this exhibition explores the social science and psychology of implicit bias, offering visitors a chance to understand how these mental processes shape our world and influence daily behaviors. Through interactive sections, the exhibition unpacks the foundational blocks of bias and examines its impact on everything from product design and technology to broader social systems.

By combining compelling imagery, powerful testimonials, and hands-on activities, the exhibition encourages personal reflection and provides practical tools for growth. Visitors will encounter diverse perspectives and artistic projects that challenge traditional labels, fostering a deeper understanding of our shared humanity. This project serves as a vital resource for the community, aiming to spark meaningful conversation and build bridges of tolerance for a more inclusive future.
