Join the Maltz Museum for Icons Fest, a two-day celebration of comics, creativity, and Cleveland's extraordinary comic book legacy. Inspired by Icons in Ink: The Jewish Comics Experience, the festival brings the nationally touring exhibition to life through conversations with creators, curators, artists, and scholars. The celebration begins Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m. with a free conversation at Cleveland Public Library featuring acclaimed comic creators Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko, who will discuss their careers, Cleveland roots, and the graphic novel Torso, moderated by veteran journalist Mike Sangiacomo. (Co-sponsored by Cleveland Public Library and the Siegel & Shuster Society.) The day continues with a special screening of Superman (1978) and a post-film discussion at the Cedar Lee Theatre. (Co-sponsored by the Siegel & Shuster Society.) On Sunday, July 12, the celebration continues at the Maltz Museum Campus in Beachwood with a full day of panel discussions, Artist Alley meet-and-greets, workshops, family activities, and admission to Icons in Ink: The Jewish Comics Experience.
