Staged Reading of BAUER
A play by Lauren Gunderson
Directed by Mitchell Fields
Please reserve tickets in advance. All tickets are free, with donations greatly appreciated. We recommend that attendees wear masks.

Lauren Gunderson, one of America’s most-produced contemporary playwrights, shares a story about love, betrayal, art, and defiance, inspired by true events. Rudolf Bauer was a European artist for two decades before the Nazis jailed him for his “degenerate art.” Rescued and brought to America by art dealer Solomon Guggenheim, Bauer lost control of his art.

This reading is in connection with “Chagall for Children,” on display at the Maltz Museum May 11-August 28.

This public program is presented in partnership with Interplay Jewish Theater and the Mandel Jewish Community Center.
