Cleveland Jewish News Honors Inaugural Class of DIFFERENCE MAKERS

Difference MakersCleveland Jewish News asked for nominations for 18 individuals that make a difference in Northeast Ohio’s Jewish community. The response was so overwhelming that the media outlet ultimately decided to recognize 36 outstanding individuals (a Double Chai)! The roster is very inspiring and includes many people who have supported our efforts over the years including Harlan Diamond, Samantha Baskind, Anita Gray, Nan Cohen, Heidi Solomon, Bart Bookatz, Steve Weinberg, Heidi Solomon and Rabbi Yossi Marozov . . . just to name a few. “It’s amazing to think about how many of these people have donated their time, talents and resources to the Museum’s efforts over the years,” said David Schafer as he excitedly read off the list honorees.

Clearly, we’re lucky to have so many giving, caring people in this community. We’re especially proud (and kvelling) to claim six of these honorees as part of the family:

  • Justin Bachman: 2014 Stop the Hate ®: Youth Speak Out Grand Prize Winner
  • Erika Gold: Volunteer and survivor speaker
  • Esther Cohen Hexter: Volunteer, docent and all-around advocate
  • Enid Rosenberg: Board of Trustees
  • Benjamin Sattin: M-Cubed Member
  • Dan Zelman: Board of Trustees

You can view all the honorees and purchase tickets to enjoy a lovely evening honoring all the Difference Makers on November 18 here.
